Description
Color photograph of a group of tall, patterned, metal sculptures standing in the snow in front of a brick school building. The photograph shows “Ocean Winds,” a kinetic sculpture composed of several upright, rectangular metal forms with rounded elements, each painted with different patterns and topped with distinct abstract shapes such as circles, arcs, and curved elements. The figures stand in a square on a snow-covered courtyard, positioned a short distance from the brick walls and windows of a two-story school building with a lower entrance wing to the left. The sculptures appear anchored to the ground on individual bases, and shadows from the low sun stretch across the snow, with no people present in the scene. "Ocean Winds," kinetic sculpture by Melita Brecher, 1992. Polychrome metal, concrete foundation. Located at Searsport Elementary School, Searsport, Maine. 1994. Unidentified, photographer. (See p17043-p17044)(NA4800.)
