Description
Black and white photograph of a tall, narrow outdoor sculpture made of wood, stone, and metal standing beside a large tree along a quiet road. The photograph shows the sculpture "Tadasana," by Melita Brecher, 1994, consisting of a vertical wooden post rising from a square base set on the grass near the edge of a paved road, with bare trees and scattered leaves visible in the background. At the top of the post rests a flat metal plate supporting a smooth, rounded stone, above which a flared metal cone is mounted upright, forming a stacked composition of geometric and natural elements. The sculpture stands a few feet from the trunk of a mature tree, and the surrounding area appears to be a wooded roadside setting with no people present. The artwork is located on Hancock Street, Bar Harbor, Maine. 1994. Unidentified photographer. (See also NA4654: p16195-p16197, p16201) (NA4800.)
