Description
Black and white photograph of a tall outdoor sculpture placed in a grassy clearing in front of trees. The work is entitled, "Elevated Topiary," by Melita Brecher [1992 Polychromed welded steel]. The image depicts a sculpture incorporating two upright posts set in tall, wild grass, with a background of dense tree foliage. The sculpture includes side-by-side pyramidal forms with dark panels attached to a box-like frame, which includes decorative curved metal rods. Directly below the triangular section, the posts are patterned with painted, leaf-like markings. The geometric forms and latticework present a structured appearance, contrasting with the natural surroundings. The sculpture is positioned as a prominent vertical feature in the landscape. Geronimo Sculpture Garden, located in Hulls Cove, Maine. The garden was established in 1990 by H.G. “Skip” Brack, a tool historian and art lover. 1994. Jill Linzee, photograph. (See p16198-p16226.)
