Description
Black and white photograph of “Dead Stevedore,” 1990, by H.G. Brack. The sculpture includes a weathered, wooden box with a small birdhouse-like sculpture, a carpenter's hand plane, and large, jaw-and-jaw turnbuckle, displayed on a wooden bench in a forested area. The image shows a rectangular box with peeling paint and metal hardware, placed on a wooden bench outdoors among trees. Resting on the box is a small sculpture resembling a birdhouse, constructed from branches and containing a round, clock-like object inside. Beside the birdhouse feature is a wooden, carpenter's hand plane. In front of the box lies a large metal turnbuckle, positioned horizontally across the bench. The sculptural installation is located in Geronimo Sculpture Garden, Hulls Cove, Maine. The garden was established in 1990 by H.G. “Skip” Brack, a tool historian and art lover. 1994. Jill Linzee, photograph. (See p16198-p16226.) (See NA4800.)
