Description

A photographic reproduction of an image of artist Carl Sprinchorn. The back reads "To Esther from Carl, this is me on the Cape Cod Dunes summer of 1916."

This copy was shared with the Fogler Library Special Collections Department by the Carl Sprinchorn Admiration Society in 2000. The donor noted that the photograph of Carl near Provincetown was likely taken by fellow artist Marsden Hartley as there are letters that document that Hartley was photographing in the area that summer and that the two had already become friends.

Sprinchorn, who was born in Sweden, first visited Maine in 1910 and had a residence in Patten, Maine from 1937 to 1952.
