Description
An image scanned from a black and white photograph. The photo has been labeled in handwriting simply "MB," but this seems to refer to Madame Mary Balascheff, or Mariia Grigorevna Kentakuzen Balasheva, whose writings were included in the 1928 work The Transplanting, a Narrative from the Letters of Marie Balascheff, a Russian Refugee in France, edited by Martha Genung Stearns. Several photographs are included in the papers of Ada Peirce McCormick of a visit to Martha Strearns at her home near Petersborough, New Hampshire.
