Description

Donald Beaumont graduated from the University of Maine in 1973 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career as a project engineer for Georgia-Pacific in Woodland, Maine. In 1977, he became a sales application engineer for Honeycomb Systems in Biddeford, Maine. In 1989, Honeycomb Systems was purchases by Valmet Paper Machinery and Beaumont was named Executive Vice President and General Manager.

In 1999, the Valmet/Honeycomb merger formed the Metso Corporation, which came to be known as Metso Paper USA, Inc. Beaumont eventually became Senior Vice President and President of Metso Paper USA, Inc.

The 2009 Honor Award recipient, Beaumont served as a member of the University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation Board of Directors, Secretary of the Executive Committee, President, and Chair.
