Description
Color photograph of a dark blue metal abstract sculpture standing outdoors in front of a light-gray clapboard building. Information documenting the title of the work or the name of the artist is unavailable. The photograph shows a rectangular, dark-blue metal slab set vertically on a rough granite stone base in a patch of grass. A thick, curved metal bar extending upward and outward from the top right corner of the slab. A length of heavy metal chain is attached low on the left side, partially obscured by tall weeds and plants in the foreground. The sculpture’s surfaces appear solid and flat, with the main panel forming a simple upright plane while the curved bar creates an arc that bends away from the slab, giving the structure a sense of tension and imbalance. Behind the sculpture, a light gray-sided building with blue trim, several windows, and some foundation plantings fills the background, indicating the piece is installed in a small yard or garden area rather than a formal gallery. 1994. Unidentified, photographer. (NA4800.)
