Description
Black and white photograph of a tall, metal insect-like sculpture positioned on the lawn of The Talent Tree art gallery and community center near Augusta, Maine. A textured wall forms and hedges form the background. A slender metal sculpture stands on the grass in front of the hedge, consisting of a small body mounted on two thin legs that splay outward and curve slightly as they meet the ground on small metal pads. From the front of the body extends a long, tubular horn ending in a flared, bell shape. Additional thin rods and circular elements form the arms, hands, and fingers of the figure. The sculpture leans slightly forward providing a sense of movement. The work's title and artist were not documented. Trees and brush appear in the background beyond the building, and a paved path cuts through the grass on the left side of the image. 1994. Unidentified, photographer. (NA4800.)
