Description
Color photograph of a bas-relief panel showing a single Greek figure in a dance pose, with artist's signature in the lower left corner, mounted on a red brick wall. The photograph features one panel from "The Dance of the Muses" by Carole Hanson, created in 1990 and located at Wells High School, Wells, Maine. This cast stone and Portland cement relief presents a Greek dancer with arms raised and head turned downward, dressed in flowing robes and wearing a headband with ribbon ends. The figure is set against a textured stone background, and the artist’s signature and date, "HANSON 90," appear in the lower left corner of the panel. This panel is part of a four-piece series, each portraying a distinct dance posture from Greek tradition. 1993. Unidentified photographer. (See p16918-p16923)(NA4800.)
