Description
Color photograph of three Blue Heron sculptures by Dale Thomas, a metalworker and sculptor from Brooks, Maine. The image features three stylized blue heron sculptures made from welded metal parts, each composed of curved and jointed segments that form the birds' long necks, bodies, and legs. The sculptures are painted brilliant blue and are set into metal bases on a grassy outdoor landscape, with a small structure partially visible in the distance. The setting is open and natural, which highlights the whimsical, industrial design of the birds as they appear to walk or forage in the grass. 1994. Unidentified photographer. (See p16889-p16908)(NA4800.)
