Description

Black and white photograph of a garden scene at Thuya Garden, Northeast Harbor, Maine, showing two large planters crafted by Eric Soderholtz, filled with flowers flanking the entrance to a path bordered by dense shrubs and trimmed evergreens. The photograph features a symmetrical view with matching ornamental urns on either side of a wide path, each planter containing abundant blooming annuals or perennials. The background is filled with carefully clipped shrubs and rounded coniferous bushes, leading up a gentle set of steps toward upper garden areas. Thuya Garden is known for its combination of formal English-style plantings and local plant varieties. A tape measure sits on the ground next to the planter, providing scale. 1994. Jill Linzee, photograph. (See p16235-p16244.) (See NA4800.)
