Description
Black and white photograph of the Thomas Brackett Reed monument, by Burr C. Miller, on the Western Promenade in Portland, showing a full front view of the standing figure atop a large stone pedestal. This photograph captures the Thomas Brackett Reed monument from the front, revealing the entire statue and its granite pedestal. Reed is depicted standing upright in a long coat and suit, with his right hand resting on the lapel of his coat and his left hand holding a bundle of documents at his side. The inscribed base reads "THOMAS BRACKETT REED," and the monument is set in an outdoor park landscape with trees and grassy areas visible. Reed died December 7, 1902. The monument was dedicated 1910. 1994. Jill Linzee, photograph. (See NA4800.)
