Description
Black and white photograph of “My Daughter’s Suitor,” 1991, by Melita Brecher. The work is a mixed-media sculpture composed of three upright cylinders with cones, rods, and geometric shapes, all anchored to a curved iron base outdoors. The sculpture showcases three vertical metal forms set on a solid, curved iron angle base. The leftmost post holds an elongated, pyramid-based triangle below a metal bracket with hanging ornaments. The central post supports two wavy rods with rectangular banner and circular shapes, finished with a pyramid-based triangle topped by a round buckle and rod. The rightmost cylinder is capped with a square pierced by a long bolt and washer underneath an inverted elongated triangle. Additional features include thin rods and flat metal plates. The work stands amid tall grass and sparse trees, using abstract forms rather than figures. Geronimo Sculpture Garden, located in Hulls Cove, Maine. The garden was established in 1990 by H.G. “Skip” Brack, a tool historian and art lover. 1994. Jill Linzee, photograph. (See p16198-p16226.) (See NA4800.)
