Description
Black and white photograph of several sculptures including a rough stone slab with a large hand carved in relief on its surface. The sculpture, by artist C. Hanson is entitled, "The Hand" (1988). Next to it, curved metal rods are anchored in the ground and a spherical stone sits nearby, as part of the arrangement. Behind the hand sculpture is a lamp post and a collection of assembled metal objects, including wheels and chains. A rag-top truck installation is entitled, “The Virgin Birth,” 1990, by David McLaughlin and H. G. Brack. A sign that reads "Geronimo Sculpture Garden Visitors Welcome," is nailed to a utility pole. Other garden features, such as a sign for "Captain Thos' Pirate Chest," add context. The entire area is surrounded by trees and wild vegetation. The garden was established in 1990 by H.G. “Skip” Brack, a tool historian and art lover. 1994. Jill Linzee, photograph. (See p16198-p16226.) (See NA4800.)
