Description
Sepia photograph of three of the Dearborn women paddling a canoe on a lake (Mattamiscontis Lake or South Branch Pond, Maine). The foreground of white birch trees frames the image on the right. The women all wear their hair up. The paddlers in the bow and stern sit straight while the third woman lounges in the center of the canoe. An island in the center of the lake and the far shore are visible in the distance. 1900-1910. See NAFOH 2462.
