Description
Black and white photograph of the roofed-over space between the kitchen of the logging camp and the sleeping quarters where food, supplies, and equipment is kept. An unidentified man wearing leather gloves, likely the camp cookee is seated on top of a stack of frozen beef carcasses. Behind the meat cache is a large stack of wooden barrels holding supplies, only two of which have fully legible labels identifying them as containing Quaker Oats, ca 1880-1920. Location is unidentified. Donated by Sarah “Sadie” Augusta French Lee, aka Mrs. Lyman K. Lee of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine.
