Description
Brown or "Chocolate" tintype portrait of Ida Frances (Smart) Dinsmore and Samuel Osco Dinsmore. The couple's cheeks and lips are tinted pink. The couple was married September 3, 1864. The couple is seated side-by-side, Ida on the left. Ida wears a dark dress with white cuffs, a ruffled collar, and lacy chiffon scarf tied in a bow. She wears long, dangling earrings (see p07778) and a crescent-shaped brooch pinned to the knot of her scarf. Ida has arched brows, light-colored eyes, and a somber expression. Her hair is up with small ringlets on her forehead. Samuel Osco Dinsmore is seated on the right. He has dark hair, a thick beard and mustache, and dark eyes. He wears a dark, three-piece suit and tie. He wears a dark tie. He wears a Masonic lapel pin and a pocket watch chain. circa 1880-1898. See NA2462.
