Black and white action photograph of bay gelding, Don J., wearing head number eight, Safford up, crossing the finish in first place of the 2.13 Bar Pace on Thursday, October 12, 1939 at the Topsham Fair, Topsham, Maine. Bay mare Dolly Yvonne, Chappell up finished in second and bay gelding Dick Hal, Jordan up finished third. Showing in fourth was brown gelding Sunrise, Cleary up. The photo is signed in the lower left corner by photographer Guy Kendall.
