Irving Hunter interviews H. V. Kaltenborn, national radio news commentator, prior to his talk at Bangor City Hall for the fist Ashley Smith Memorial Lecture. The two discuss Kaltenborn's impressions of Maine, his career as an author, his visit to a recent NATO conference where spoke with General Eisenhower, Kaltenborn's opinion of world affairs, the situation in Korea, Taft versus Eisenhower as the best Republican candidate for President, and a Steel Strike that had led to suggestions that President Truman should be impeached. Recorded at the WLBZ Studios in Bangor, Maine, May 14, 1952.
