Pages from a diary kept by Willis Carter, a teacher who lived in West Pembroke, Maine. These pages followed the entry for December 31, 1890 and include records of items purchased, a short list of addresses, a list of several books purchased, letters received, and page where he had written the question, "To what extent has a teacher a right to inflict capital punishment?"
