Abstract/ Summary

In the context of an ever expanding technological world, this year’s annual colloquium, available via Zoom only, will focus on how these advances are influencing the lives of the aging population. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of various forms of technology in our daily lives has rapidly increased. Technological innovation provides an array of both benefits and potential challenges for older adults and those who serve them. Topics to be addressed will include: the use and growth of telehealth; the impact of technology on the risk of loneliness and social isolation; adult relationships and interactions; online scams; advancing older adults’ digital literacy and inclusion; and much more. Authorities will gather via Zoom before a broad audience of health and human service professionals and older adult health care consumers to consider the clinical and personal impact of technology on our aging population.
