Abstract/ Summary

The 2007-08 men's ice hockey season was not a typical one for the University of Maine. Maine's string of nine consecutive NCAA appearances, second only to Michigan, was finally snapped. Gone were Josh Soares, Michel Leveille and Mike Lundin, players who had a hand in leading Maine to the NCAA Frozen Four in three of the past four seasons. In addition, the Los Angeles Kings (NHL) signed 2007 Hockey East Rookie of the Year, Teddy Purcell after just one season at Maine, leaving the Black Bears without seven of their top 10 scorers from 2006-07.
