Abstract/ Summary

Last year, Maine remained among the nation's college hockey elite with the team's second consecutive 30-win season and its second straight NCAA final four appearance. The Black Bears finished with a 31-14 overall record, and claimed their first HOCKEY EAST Championship.

Maine finished the regular season with a 17 -9 record, earning a first-round bye in the playoffs. The Black Bears 3-2 overtime victory over Northeastern and a 5-4 win over regular-season first-place finisher Boston College gave Maine the HOCKEY EAST Championship. With the HOCKEY EAST Championship came Maine's second straight top seed in the East and a first-round bye in the NCAA playoffs.
