Abstract/ Summary

Webpages featuring the locations, names, images, and descriptions of 26 pieces of public art at the University of Maine. A majority of the works included in the walking tour were acquired through Maine's 1979 Percent for Art law. This law requires that one-percent of the construction budget for public buildings receiving state funds be set aside for the purchase and display of original works of art.

Works by the following Maine artists are included in the tour: Deborah de Moulpied, Vincent Hargen, Joseph Haroutunian, Alan Magee, Andreas von Huene, Louise T. Bourne, James Linehan, Elizabeth A. Busch, Joe Kievitt, William Muir, George Mason, Nina Jerome, Kazumi Hoshino, Priscilla Pattison, Bill Hanson, Janet Redfield, and Clark Fitz-Gerald.
