An image scanned from a color postcard depicting the steamboat "Governor Cobb" at Eastport, Maine and captioned "the first turbine built in the U.S." Undated.
The SS. Governor Cobb was built in 1906 for the Eastern Steamship Company for the Boston to New Brunswick route. The ship would see naval service in WWI and WWII and with the U.S. Coast Guard before being scrapped in 1947.
