An image scanned from a black and white negative from within items saved by a family living in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, in the early 1900s. Two women dressed in full length skirts and heavy coats are smiling as one hangs onto the other for support. Each stands on rustic cross country skis, equipped with a single wooden pole. Circa 1905.
