An illustration of a log boom from Thomas Sedgwick Steele's 1880 edition of Canoe and Camera (p. 109). The image is used to illustrate the section of text when the canoe party fist enters the East Branch of the Penobscot River, after traveling from Moosehead Lake and through the Chamberlin [Chamberlain] Lake area.
