    Description

An image scanned from a black and white photograph of men with horses and equipment at a Maine lumber camp. A note saved with the photograph indicates that this may be the "Charles Whittier" lumber operation, but that wasn't certain. The note continues, "The man wearing the cook apron was my brother-in-law the late George H. Spies."
