Description
A black and white photograph in the Diana Forbes-Robertson collection on her aunt, Maxine Elliott, an internationally renowned actress born (as Jessie Dermot) in Rockland, Maine in 1868. She appeared in her first play in 1890 and her last in 1920. She owned and played in the Maxine Elliott Theater, in New York which opened in 1908.
Small text below the photo reads "Philco Series 34008, Miss Maxine Elliott, Lizzie Caswell Smith." A phrase on the back reads, "The Philco Publishing Co., Holborn Place, London, W.C."
