Anna Hayford, the daughter of William B. and Laura Hayford, married Mellen Chamberlain Peirce in 1882. After her father's death in 1887, her husband managed the timberlands and business property of the Hayford estate. Anna and Mellen Peirce had three children: Ada Peirce McCormick, Hayford, and Waldo Peirce.
