Description
An image scanned from a black and white postcard of Katahdin Iron Works, Maine. A typed note on the back reads, "Wish I knew date of this post card picture, but looks like about the same 'moment in time' as the larger print of HFS Jr & family loading with bro Steve on steps [1929]. But the sawmill side toward the 'round' house looks a bit different. Bert Green's sawmill, where he got killed 15 May 29 just 2 1/2 mos before pic mentioned above. With my AFGA LUPE 8x I can read Iron Works on the station. Look like same jitney boarding steps. Bridge over Pleasant River to KI village. Arm of Chairback behind it."
