Description
Black and white photograph of an unidentified person; part of a collection focused on the Plantation of Concord, Maine, Somerset County, MS 698 sc, a gift of David Smith. The photograph is emulsion on photographic paper rather than a glass plate. It is enclosed in a paper mat and includes a poem on the back: "To those who want good pictures, The best place all should know, While in Skowhegan village, To S. F. Conant's [?] go. To guard against deception, Good wits we must not lack, And for our fame's protection, We paste this on the back."
