Description
An image scanned from a color postcard depicting the sled making factory of the Paris Manufacturing Company in South Paris, Maine. Undated.
The Paris Manufacturing Company was founded in 1861 out of the home of Henry Morton and his wife, Lucilla Forbes. Their family business would grow to employ nearly 300 people in the early twentieth century, when each sled was still made and painted by hand. The company still produces sleds and winter products in South Paris today.
