The Maine Song and Story Sampler contains songs and stories from the Maine Folklife Center's collection from over fifty areas of Maine and the Maritime Provinces, creating a representative sample of geographical and cultural traditions. On the map, you will find pins marking these places. When you click a pin, information appears including a brief description and a link to the song or story's page. Historical and cultural contextual information, transcriptions, appropriate photographs, and audio or video recordings of traditional songs and stories are available on each song or story's page. You can also browse through the whole collection by title, artist, or collector, or check out the related Curriculum Connections Series using the links below.

The map design is a product of a collaboration between the Maine Folklife Center and a class in New Media taught by Professor Joline Blais: NMD306 Project Design Lab 2. The Maine Song and Story Sampler is a Maine Folklife Center project sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts.
