Abstract/ Summary
Handwritten letter and handwritten notes from UMaine Alumni in response to University of Maine's fundraising efforts in 1975. Handwritten comment on envelope flap: No money. Handwritten on the comments section of envelope: Do the gay Libbers require a Performing Arts Center? Longer handwritten letter transcription: April 5, 1975 Dear Sir: I was prepared to contribute this year to the Alumni Fund but I have heard some news that has changed my mind. Another "Gay" meeting was held on campus--as long as these meetings are being held, I will never contribute any money. I'm sure there are many others that feel the same way as I do. It's sad that the University of Maine has to be associated with such an organization. Sincerely yours, [Redacted]
