Included in the PDF is a scan of Bean's typed transcription of this letter. A modern transcription has been included for the benefit of the researcher.
Note that the date is only a speculative guess as to the production of this letter. While it is clear that the letter was mailed by November 1, there is no year written on any of the contents therein. 1863 is the most likely date considering that Frank received a promotion to Captain that year.
