Abstract

Christos Gianopoulos, interviewed by John J. Springer in Lewiston, Maine, July 6, 1999. Gianopoulos speaks about his early life growing up in Sanford, Maine, enrolling in the ROTC in college, enlisting in 1964 knowing nothing about Vietnam, going to Fort Benning for training as an infantry officer and being assigned to be an instructor, his views of military service, and the general public perception of the military during Vietnam.
