Description
Black and white photograph of a sculpted relief panel by Richard W. Bock, depicting six football players and a woman carrying a pennant at the Howard Hippach Memorial athletic field, dedicated June 5, 1916. The scene within the sculpture shows seven figures standing in a row. Five of the men are dressed in football uniforms, including one holding a football, while a woman extends a pennant within the group. The arrangement suggests a ceremonial or honorary moment, with one man shaking hands with another, and formal poses that reflect sportsmanship and recognition. The panel was created by sculptor Richard W. Bock for the Howard Hippach Memorial athletic field, dedicated in 1916. Farmington, Maine. 1998-1999. Jill Linzee, photograph. (See NA4800.)
