Description
Black and white photograph of "Dinner Party #11," by H.G. Brack and Carole Hanson. A wooden work table and chair are set outdoors with a variety of metal and ceramic objects arranged on top. The photograph shows an old wooden table and chair placed in a natural setting, surrounded by tall grass and wildflowers. The tabletop displays several items: a white, possibly ceramic bell-shaped object, a wooden carpenter's plane, an iron ring with a solid sphere at the center, a narrow rake head, a spiral piece of wrought iron topped with a corroded metal container, and an oil can seated in the top right corner of a ceramic tile. Each sculpture has a worn, utilitarian appearance, with the metal ring and sphere displaying a sense of weight and the spiral rod providing contrast with its curled form. The objects are carefully placed as part of an outdoor art installation. Geronimo Sculpture Garden, located in Hulls Cove, Maine. The garden was established in 1990 by H.G. “Skip” Brack, a tool historian and art lover. 1994. Jill Linzee, photograph. (See p16198-p16226.) (See NA4800.)
