Description
Brown or Chocolate photographic print of two women and a child posing on the back porch of Phebe Eliza Smart's residence. Phebe Smart, née DeWitt, was the Civil War widow of Charles Smart. She died in Seboeis, Maine in March 1897. The unidentified woman and child in the photograph may be a daughter-in-law and grandchild to Phebe. The farmstead includes a white, clapboard farmhouse and extended buildings. The house has two hip-roof dormers and a third gable-front dormer on the extension. Behind the house is a large wood pile and an empty clothes lines. See NA2462.
