Chocolate or brown photo print of members of the Campbell Clark hunting party floating on South Branch Lake, Maine. Three canoes and a batteau rest on smooth water that mirrors their reflections. A point of heavily forested land is visible in the background. In the first canoe on the left are Charles Smart, standing with a setting pole and Bob Green seated with a pipe in his mouth, holding a paddle. In the second canoe (front, middle) are Campbell Clark is seated in the center of the canoe, a rifle resting on his knee and Fred McDougall kneeling in the stern and holding a paddle in the water. In the third canoe (far left) Nate Spencer kneels in the stern with a paddle with an unidentified man sitting in the middle of the canoe. Behind the three canoes Sam Ramsdell, the camp cook, wearing his apron, stands in the bow of a bateau holding up a string of fish. John McGregor with a full white beard, sits in the stern of the bateau with a paddle in the water, a shotgun resting across his knees. 1897. See NAFOH 2462.
