Description
Chocolate or brown photo print of cook Sam Ramsdell standing beside an outdoor kitchen set up at Campbell Clark's camp at the head of South Branch Lake, Maine. Sam is dressed in dark clothes under a gray vest. He wears a hat and wears an apron. He holds a tin cup in his right hand. A canvas tent is visible in the background on the right edge of the photo. The kitchen area is covered by a slanted roof supported by four posts. There are two tables near the front of the kitchen. A cast iron stove is set up in the background with a chimney pipe extending from the back of the kitchen. The firebox of the stove is open. Sticks of stove wood rest on the earth below the stove. A long-handled shovel lays on the ground behind Sam's feet. Sitting on a high shelf by Sam's left shoulder is a galvanized pail and tin cup. Sam is wearing the same clothing as he wears in p08034. 1897. (See also p08034) NA2462.
