Description

Chocolate or brown photographic print of a woods crew on a frozen, snow-covered pond under an overcast sky. Four teams of horses pause, hitched to four, loaded double-sleds. One unidentified man sits atop the loaded. The drivers of the first, second, and fourth sleds each has ice formed on his mustache. An additional four unidentified men stand in the snow near the sleds. The photograph, identified as the A.J. Pierce Poplar Team, was part of a calendar. undated, Late 19th-Early 20th Century.
