Chocolate or brown print photograph of (l-r) J.W. Dearborn, George Hopkins, and Joseph Emery Smart, Jr. demonstrating how to hunt at night from a canoe. Dearborn sits in the bow of the canoe, aiming his rifle. Hopkins sits directly over his left shoulder holding a kerosene lantern. Smart sits in the stern using the paddle to steady the vessel. Though demonstrated during daylight hours, this activity was reserved for night time hunting or poaching. undated, Late 19th-Early 20th Century. See NAFOH 2462.
