Description
Chocolate or brown print of two men on the shore of Smart's Island, overlooking Mattamiscontis Lake. The men are identified as Ashton and Monks, two sports who used to hire J.E. Smart as their fishing and hunting guide. One of the men sits on a piece of ledge holding a pipe in his left hand. He's dressed in a dark coat and wears a cap as he appears to speak to the man on the right. The second man stands with his back against a white birch tree, his right foot propped on a piece of ledge rock. He leans his chin pensively on his right fist, listening to his companion. undated, Late 19th-Early 20th Century. See NAFOH 2462.
