Sepia photograph of two young women, Emma Dearborn and Margaret Given, wading in knee deep water off the dock at Smart Island, Mattamiscontis Lake, Maine. The sweet photograph captures a candid moment as the girls wear nearly identical bathing costumes and link fingers as they look down into the water to watch their tentative steps.
