Description
Cyanotype postcard of the Smart house in Seboeis, Maine near South Branch Lake (See also p07810). Three people stand on the porch. The home is an extended farm house with a large barn. Fruit trees in the side yard are in bloom. The house is surrounded by a picket fence. A newspaper clipping is pasted to the front of the card which reads, "Miss Eda L. Dinsmore, stenographer for P.A. Smith, Esq., has just returned from a month's vacation which she has been spending with friends at Old Orchard." A handwritten message below reads: "Glad to hear you are home, safe, but whose orchard did you stay in? JES." Eda Leu Dinsmore began working in P.A. Smith's law office in March 1905. August 6, 1906.
