Description
Black and white photograph of a group of unidentified people seated in an early, four-door touring car, circa 1910-1920. The image is printed within an outline that looks like a route-number road sign. The photograph may have been taken by Joseph Emery Smart, Jr., who was a photographer and, according to Dr. Paul Dinsmore, mask images in prints for added ornamentation. The vehicle is light in color and has a tool box fixed to the running board between the driver's and passenger's doors. The woman seated in front wears a light colored hat and smiles. The man seated next to her wears glasses, white shirt sleeves, and bow tie. A man in the back seat rests one foot on the top of the back passenger door and leans back against a woman whose face is obscured by part of the car. See NA2462.
