Description
Sepia tone photograph of the exterior of log camp with icicles hanging from eaves, and a large pile of snow-covered barrels piled outside the side entry door, ca. 1880 – 1910. The barrels likely contain food provisions required by the camp cookee to keep the crew fed. At the far end of the camp, on the right, it is possible to see several pairs of snow shoes with the tails driven into the snow to hold the webbing aloft. The location of the photo is unidentified. Donated by Sarah “Sadie” Augusta French Lee, aka Mrs. Lyman K. Lee of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine.
